Welcome to the Playback archives! Playback Magazine was an audio cassette magazine. Topics included audio technology, telephone-related information, some computer-related information, accessibility issues faced by the blind, and more. Contributors often reviewed new gadgets in their own voices. Ed Potter produced Playback bimonthly from September 1979 through 2007. He also produced Playback Underground, a supplementary tape which went along with most Playback editions starting in November of 1990. These Underground tapes contained articles, reviews, and reprints which were too long or too specialized to fit in the main magazine.
Ed Potter has given us permission to distribute all editions of Playback Magazine and Playback Underground on this website, free of charge. You are permitted to download and share these files, provided such distribution is done in a non-commercial manner.
