Here is the master list of tables of contents for the Playback Underground tapes. This collection starts in November of 1990, with Underground number 1. There were a few earlier unnumbered Underground tapes, but Ed Potter has stated he no longer has these. Unless these earlier tapes later come to light, they will not be included in this collection. Compared to the main Playback magazine, the Underground tapes were very formal affairs. Each tape has a definite contents, and tone indexes are used to separate items. The one exception to this is the very first Underground, November 1990. This Underground was a more informal affair, with Ed talking about some items just before they were put on the tape, and other items introducing themselves. Every Underground is preceded with three at symbols @@@. This will allow you to search quickly. Note on spellings: Since Playback was an audio magazine, spellings of product names, company names, and similar words were not usually given unless they were relevant. Thus, it is not always possible to verify the correct spelling of these names, especially considering the historical nature of much of this information. Therefore, there may be some misspelled product or company names. These Underground tapes were recorded into computer files by Roger Smith, and this contents list was made by Jayson Smith. @@@ Underground 1 for Playback 68, November 1990 Track 1 Satellite TV system
